Which certs raise pay fastest, and what does recert actually cost?
No public dataset ties a dollar amount specifically to holding an ASE certification, and this site will not invent one. What is publicly documented: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data for the automotive service technician occupation as a whole, and separately, individual employer job postings that name ASE certification as a preference or requirement. Many shops also run their own per-certification bonus program, set by the employer, not by ASE, and it varies widely.
The credential most dealerships reference by name in job postings and pay grades is A1 through A8 combined, "ASE Master Technician" status, since it signals broad general-repair competence rather than one system.
